The Human Bodies Workshop
This workshop introduces the different systems in our body and their roles we come to focus on the circulatory system we use diagrams to understand blood flow around the body before learning what a pulse is and taking your own pulse, moving on to stethoscopes and listening to their friends heart and both resting and exercised levels.
And finally….heart dissection showing the chambers of the heart that we’d spoken about earlier on.
The actual dissection is only done by the Atomic Science presenter, but some schools choose to provide the children with gloves and those who want to can get hands on and feel the heart and have a good poke around a pig’s heart!
Learn about the human body, including the importance and roles of organs, the senses and dissect a pig’s heart.
By the end of the workshop, students will:
- Gain an understanding of the inner workings of the human body, including the roles of our organs.
- Learn about the senses.
- Dissect a pigs heart to gain a better comprehension of the organ.
