Chemistry Workshops

Immersive Experiences have been developing memorable workshops for years. Our Hands on Physics workshops are available both virtually and in-person for both schools and private party bookings.

Learn about the space, forces, sound, electricity and more in a fun and interactive way!

Detective Science

This workshop is an introduction to how electricity is actually produced and how electrons behave.

The workshop can be adapted to for all ages. Please contact us for more information.

45 – 60 minutes

By the end of the workshop, students will:

  • Gain an understanding of the scientific processes used in forensic and detective roles.

Slime

We’ve made over 20,000 pots of slime over the past 10 years…that’s how much children enjoy learning about this introduction to chemistry and the atoms that make the world around them.

The workshop can be adapted to for all ages. Please contact us for more information.

45 – 60 minutes

By the end of the workshop, students will:

  • Gain an understanding of how atoms make up matter and interact.

Comet Lab

Create a real comet in the classroom and learn about the objects in our Solar System such as planets, moons, asteroids and more.

Hold real life meteorites in your hand, and examine the differences between them.

Workshop suitable for the following ages:

Key Stage 1-2

Key Stage 3-4

45 – 60 minutes

By the end of the presentation and Comet Lab, students will:

  • Be able to name objects in the Solar System.
  • Understand the differences between the Sun and the planets.
  • Know the order of the planets, and the difference between terrestrial planets and gas giants.
  • Know that  man-made satellites orbit the Earth and have many uses such as GPS, weather monitoring and science (in the case of the ISS).
  • Know where shooting stars come from.
  • Understand what comets are made of, how they form and why they might be important for understanding life on Earth.
